threes for africa

My goal for April 28 - May 5 is to make 1000 three pointers to raise enough money to buy a Goalsetter basketball hoop for the kids in Sierra Leone, Africa. I have been shooting a lot in the last month and I think I can do it.

Yesterday I got to go to sports page and meet Kyle Korver of the Utah Jazz. I got an autographed basketball, jersey, shirt, and photos. I even got to sign an autograph for some people. I had to take a lot of pictures. I was there for about an hour and then I went swimming.

Special thanks to the Clement family for sending 333 dollars.

Sorry I didn't get the chart up. we still haven't gotten all the donations yet. Special thanks to Sports Page for paying for shipping and handling. Thursday my dad told me that Kyle Korver wanted to meet me and was going to by the kids at the covering orphanage two hoops to add on to my two. He is also going to sell a line of clothing and all the proceeds go to the orphanage. I was really excited.

After school my dad picked me up and brought me to Central. I had 850 before I started. When I had about 100 done my mom and sister surprised me and came to watch me make the last shot. I started off trying to make a halfcourt shot but that was taking me to long. I ended up making one about 4 feet out of the three point line. It feels really good to be done but my shoulders hurt pretty bad. I have over 40 sponsors. I will put in a list of all the sponsors and how much they donated tomorrow. I will also try to get the total amount of money donated.

Also, I figured out the comments. you should be able to post one now

Shot Number 1000!

I got some new Kevin Durant shoes and they really worked so it hardly took me any time to get 150 done. That means I need to make 150 tomorrow to be at 1000. I can't believe tomorrow is the last day. I have so many sponsors. I have 36 total. I got an email from the orphanage director with a picture of a bunch of kids from the covering holding a basketball. It looks like they are really excited about getting the hoop. I have attached the picture above.

I only got 100 done today because of my baseball games in Ankeny. That puts my total at 700 and gives me two days to get 300 done. I'm going early tomorrow morning so I can get 200 done tomorrow.

Today I made 150 at Central College and yesterday I got 125. That puts my total at 600. When I went to school yesterday A bunch of kids told me they had seen me last night on TV and I had three teachers tell me something. I probably wont get too many shots in tomorrow because I have two baseball games, but I will try to shoot as much as I can.
